International Women’s Day!
International Women’s Day is an excellent opportunity to emphasise that everyone has a role to play in creating a more gender-balanced world. The purpose of International Women’s Day is to honour women’s accomplishments and advocate for gender equality.
International Women’s Day has been celebrated for over a century, with the first celebration taking place in 1911.
The colours of International Women’s Day are purple, green, and white. Purple is the colour of justice and dignity. Green is the colour of hope. White represents purity. The colours originated from the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) in the UK in 1908.
This year’s theme of international women’s day is #BreakTheBias.
Imagine a gender-equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women’s equality.
Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Do we still need an International Women’s Day?
A question that you may ask is ‘Do we still need an International Women’s Day, after all, we have achieved.’
Yes! There’s no place for complacency. According to the World Economic Forum, sadly none of us will see gender parity in our lifetimes, and nor likely will many of our children. Gender parity will not be attained for almost a century.
There’s urgent work to do – and we can all play a part.

International Ideas Month!
Some of the most impressive things in our modern world – whether massive, lumbering structures or complex, gleaming smartphones – began as an idea. We wouldn’t have any of the cool things we have today if it weren’t for ideas.
Things that improve our health, keep us entertained when we’re bored, keep us connected, and make the morning commute a little less soul-destroying; all of these things began as a small spark in the mind of some woman or man and were brought to life for us to use today.
The goal of International Ideas Month is to recognise the value of any idea, no matter how ridiculous it may appear at first. If there’s something you’ve been thinking about for a while, an idea you’ve had but never really considered turning into a reality, this month is the perfect time to get started.
Below are some quotes about Ideas!
