Volcanoes!

There once was a girl who loved volcanoes, not merely seeing their photos but viewing them in real life. If she wanted, she could spend hours just cherishing the view. Her name was Katia Krafft.
In college, Katia met a boy who was just as passionate as her about volcanoes. His name was Maurice. They both soon got married and set their first dream together. It was an extremely dangerous dream. Their dream was to ride a boat down the lava flow. Something that no one had done.
At the news of a volcano erupting, Katia and Maurice would pack their bags and rush to the scene. Once there, they would start taking a video of the volcano erupting. They would wear silver suits and helmets to withstand the heat of the volcano.
One day Katia and Maurice went on the slopes of Mount Unzen, an active volcano in Japan. They thought that they were at a safe distance from the summit. Unfortunately, their calculations were wrong. The explosion was far larger than anyone had predicted, and it sent a boiling cloud of gases, rocks and ash rolling down the valley. Katia, Maurice, and the members of their team tragically died. They didn’t have any chance of escaping the sudden eruption.

Speaking of volcanos, did you know that a particular volcano can produce blue lava?
Yes, Blue lava! It may seem weird or unbelievable, but it is true.
The 13th largest island in the world, Java, Indonesia – – houses the Kawah Ijen volcano that is exceptional for its tendency to emit oozing waves of blue and purple lava.
Though, the lava itself isn’t blue. The enthralling colouration is due to high quantities of the presence of an active solfatara (a natural volcanic steam vent) which emits strong gases with high levels of sulphur that emerges along with the lava. When the gas catches fire, it burns with a bright chroma that makes the lava appear a hue of electric blue.
