International Women’s Day<\/strong><\/em> <\/span>is an excellent opportunity to emphasise that everyone has a role to play in creating a more gender-balanced world. The purpose of International Women’s Day is to honour women’s accomplishments and advocate for gender equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Women’s Day has been celebrated for over a century, with the first celebration taking place in 1911.
The colours of International Women’s Day are purple, green, and white. Purple is the colour of justice and dignity. Green is the colour of hope. White represents purity. The colours originated from the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) in the UK in 1908.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s theme of international women’s day is #BreakTheBias<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine a gender-equal world.<\/p>

A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.<\/p>

A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.<\/p>

A world where difference is valued and celebrated.<\/p>

Together we can forge women’s equality.<\/p>
