In this poem, the poet starts the poem by describing the sky and ground as &#8216;Thin&#8217; and &#8216;Wet&#8217;. As if a storm could strike at any time, soaking the land. In the Marshes, this is always a possibility. Cranes, Geese and Lizards can be found amongst the land&#8217;s reeds, moss, and shadowed corners. These species symbolise a larger group of animals and biological life that live in an area that many people find unpleasant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As night falls, the poet&#8217;s speaker keeps track of the animals&#8217; movements and the roles of the plants.
